  2. They were both taken from about the same place, one hour and sixty vertical feet apart. The stairway continues past the end of Republican Street on Capitol Hill – the strip of asphalt behind the parked cars, dead-center in the picture, is I-5. It’s a nice little stairclimb – the right-of-way is all planted and looks like a little park.
