Yeah. While feature-wise they’re practically the same, I strongly prefer Mercurial for its interface and ease-of-use. For exactly these sorts of reasons. It’s easy to use, especially if you’re already familiar with Subversion.

Is it possible to host a Mercurial archive from a normal web server, without needing clients to have an ssh login? That was one reason I decided to use git.
